the smoke and mirrors of how this world works can camouflage... or they can protect. once you have seen behind the curtain, (thank you toto) are you quite pleased with yourself, to know at least one other version of the truth? or do you now miss your old view of things?

One less piece of magic and the realization that I am responsible for getting myself out of this mess that tornado got me into. Ahhh, the drudgery of it all and no more magic wand to make everything better.

But then, it can be rather liberating to know that you can rely on yourself without having to go on long quests to find the proper wizard who will tell you that you were where you wanted to be all along.

Once you peek behind the curtain, I think you are sadder because the mystery is gone. It is much better to be kept wondering, SOMETIMES than to know the cold, hard truth.

I don't care that I know the wizard is just a old coot behind the curtain. I strive to know all I can about everything.

I have a bigger problem with the decline in respect and morals.

Innocence lost is always sad to me, yet if it's ignorance lost, we should consider ourselves graced by the newly discovered wisdom.
Though sad for the illusion crumbled, I will still take the blue pill (it is the blue pill that negates the influence of the Matrix, right?)

Let me take off the blinders, and see the world as it is, and come to love it despite it's flaws, than have me love something that was never really there...

Definately Sadder. Becoming wise, comes with a big price to pay.

J gave you the answer I would, Patz! Only, of course, she expresses her ideas much better than I ever will!;) (Hey, dear!:) )

And there's one other thing that bothers me enormously: Not knowing what's going on. This is VERY stressful, for me!

I may not like the reality - I'm more of a dreamer, remember? - but I must learn to live with it...

With wisdom comes the sadness of not having a drapery of a lie to hide behind. This wisdom will cause you pain, but will allow you to give wanted insight to those who need it. It all comes down to your benefit of being able to believe the lies?, or the benefit of others, being able to believe that the unknown is not their's to untangle.

knowledge is power, but with power comes great responsibility. our facade of a great and mighty wizard who can make everything better has crumbled into dust, now we know we are responsible for ourselves, our successes and our failures. no one to blame anymore or look to for quick fixes. a trauma for sure but when the rose colored glasses come off we can truly begin to live.it's terrifying that first time you know I'm on my own no one to save me. take that leap of faith jump off the cliff and succeed, once you've done it there's no going back and you;ll feel truly powerful and in control. i wouldn't have it any other way.

Nostalgia isn't the same as experiencing something from a (retrospectively) false perspective. It's really futile to look backwards.
