Trust me, I'M NOT COMPLAINING, just wondering if I should be concerned about how long she is sleeping. She is 5 months old. I put her to bed at 10 pm and she sleeps until 10:30 am. Everyone else I know says their babies wake up around 7 am.

She is always in a good mood during the day and very rarely fusses. She doesn't nap too much during the day, maybe twice for 20-30 minutes.

Is it okay to let her sleep this long over-night or should I be waking her up earlier?

use this site to help you firgure out if she is sleeping enough or too much. It sounds like she is getting enough sleep - she just does it all at night and not much during that day - that is nice for you! Good luck!

OMG...i think sooo undesirable for you. You sound like you're thoroughly at your wits end. i'm sorry, yet I have not experienced this. have you ever talked on your pediatrician about this? perchance he can propose a snooze health center of a few variety. i'm not into the full medicating your little ones for sleep applications, yet your situation sounds extreme. perhaps you want to seek a pro to work out if he would favor some style of mild sleep help. i do not ignore that sounds terrible, yet he would have a type of insomnia. IDK...Your situation sounds truly out of the conventional. If he become 2-6 months, i'd imagine that what he's doing is sensible, yet a a million year old should be getting 9-12 hours a snooze an afternoon with a view to enhance and functionality. good success and that i'm hoping you hit upon a answer on your situation.

Bad?! You should be thankful. As long as she is not thin and gaining weight, there is no problem. My baby would not go to sleep until midnight and then get up at 7 AM to start the day. She would wake up once in the middle of the night to eat too. Be grateful for enough sleep.

Having reared three children of my own thank your lucky stars that she is sleeping this well. You did not mention her weight that could be part of the solution heavier babies tend (not always) to sleep longer. Have you spoken with your pediatrican about this? If you are concerned try keeping her up by a half an hour for a week at a time, then back it down each week until about 9 PM. Hope this helps.

It's not bad. If she's sleeping longer and longer period of time, she could be growing. My 11 mo. old sleeps 10 - 12 hours per night and takes a 3 hour nap in the afternoon. She has been doing this for the past two months!

My baby girl started sleeping 11 hrs straight through the night at 8 weeks old.
The general rule is 'let sleeping babies sleep!"
UNLESS, she is not gaining adequate weight, as was the case with my daughter. Between months 3 and 4 she didn't even gain a pound. So my pediatrician had me start waking her to re-implement night-feedings. Which did help. I can't tell you how hard it was, to go and force my sleeping baby to wake up in the middle of the night to eat!! It did help.
Then she started teething, and crawling....and now she doesn't sleep through the night at all!!! This is normal too, as babies are entering new stages of development and gaining skills, they can be wrestless and night and 'practice' crawling and standing, etc.

All babies are different. That is awesome that yours is such a good sleeper. I wouldn't be worried one bit.

It is totally normal. even a four or five year old should get 11-12 hrs a night.Your baby will get the sleep she needs. Remember that not every baby is the same. My first was a sleeper 11-13 hours a night, my second sometimes only needs 4hrs and he is raring to go. although on the average he gets 8-10. and he will be five tomorrow.

My daughter also sleeps around 12 hours a night, from 8 pm to 8 am. If that is the sleep she needs, I say go for it.

I agree with everyone else, there is no problem with how long she is sleeping. I have a 2 month old and she sleeps in pretty good too. You also said that your baby doesn't nap long. She just making up for short naps. So enjoy sleeping in yourself.

Let her sleep as long as she likes. Especially if hse is waking up happy and not fussy during the day. My son is 5 months old and he goes to bed at 9 and doesn't get up til 6. My doctor said at his age, let them sleep as much as the want. As long as their mood is good throughout the day.

I think it's OK. My son got up three times a night until he was 18 months but my daughter was sleeping through the night by the time she was 4 months. They are both healthy and happy kids today.
