Yes.

I used to be a consultant and engineer to industrial factories and man were my eyes opened!

You know the difference between the name brand Pepto-Bismol and the generic stuff? THE LABLE.

That’s right. I saw it with my own eyes. I was in a facility where they made the stuff, on contract. When the name brand run was done they shut down the line, cleaned the machinery then started it back up and were pumping it into the generic bottles. The plant engineer told me that it was the same formula!

When it comes to medications, the generic versions are identical to the brand names. For example, Tylenol contains acetaminophen. Rexall acetaminophen is the identical product except that it's cheaper because you don't have to pay McNeil Pharmaceuticals for their marketing department when you buy generic.

As for generic versions of foods, it's a hit or miss situation. Some generic versions are crappy and some I find are better than the "real" thing. For example, Kellogg's Froot Loops are just coloured circles but generic fruity-o's (or whatever your store calls them) are made with fruit juice and actually taste like the fruit flavour they have been coloured like. An opposite case, though, would be generic macaroni & cheese. Although it's edible, I wouldn't say that it's delicious like Kraft's Kraft Dinner. (Although, I buy 2 boxes of the cheap stuff for the price of 1 box of KD and just throw in a slice of processed cheddar to help it along).

Hope this helps...

Generic products are often made by the same manufacturer as branded products.
So the answer is yes.

Sometimes yes, and sometimes no. Some generics are better than the name brands, some are worse, and some are no different.
