I'm going to go ahead and say ... GOOD LUCK ... the American government is too busy sending all of our money to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd world countries to fight diseases... or to rebuild a country that we intentionally destroyed.

The first step would have to be understanding how/why people become so down and out on luck, and being poor... once we understand that, then maybe we can come up with a solution to help these people... but you have to remember, people can be really rude... either they don't want to change or they just feel they can't.

Maybe we should look at the influences on these people who live in the 'ghetto' and change that... all this rap music about 'get rich or die trying' (??) Is that really a positive message for 10 year olds? HELL NO.

And we need to get drugs off the street... and I'm not talking about marijuana - because that should be legal -- I'm talking about coke and meth and all those other 'man-made' drugs...



BUT... I don't see the government helping anyone anytime soon... like I said - they're too busy sending all of our financial aid to other countries... (when, OBVIOUSLY, American's are suffering too)

No, the government will never do anything to help the suffering people in the slums. dont be fooled. Anything we do that looks good on the surface is probably corrupt underneath anyhow. The government brought crack into the ghettos of the us for a reason. to keep humanity from evolving to the next level. The oppressed masses will have to rise up on their own, free from any alliances with our corrupt leadership. something in humanity is changing that will allow this, so dont worry, but dont think for a minute that the political powersthat be will have anything to do with it.

no, for 1 thing helping people in a poverty situation has the effect of reinforcing the behaviour that keeps them there in the first place...you feed them and house them and give them a stack of cash...then they breed and multiply and create more that learn to live in those conditions relying on the handout. i live close to and have social contact with alot of "poor" people living in sub-par conditions. For the most part they all have an EXCUSE for not doing what would be necessary to escape the conditions...its not that they dont have the ability or opportunity. i believe they dont really realize that the way they think is whats holding them back, but for the most part its a combination of laziness and low self esteem compounded by being conditioned from childhood to believe somehow that someone else is responsible and owes them somthing, ie, the expected handout from the govt.

I'd much rather see people help themselves rather than being dependent on taxpayers to bail them out of the bad choices they made for themselves. Its really not so difficult to move. You just rent a uhaul and move.

Going to school and learning is not so difficult. But our ghetto citizens choose not to learn.

They could say no to drugs if they wanted to. But they dont, so now they are crackheads.
