"your wife tastes like chicken"

It seems that Materazzi called Zidane a terrorist and a rotten Muslim (that made certain Islamic groups say that Materazzi has to die), he called Zidane's sister to be a prostitute and he said something very ugly about Zizou's ailing mother.
Zidane is expected to uncover to the press what Materazzi said in a few weeks.

Zidane's parents are actually from Algeria, not Albania.
Algeria is a former part of France's colonial territories.

Well Materazzi was being a child and whined abt the French. And French kid was all provoked and retaliated :)

The sad thing is....they are in NATIONAL teams!! Not 5 year old kindergarten kids! They are not fit to be in national teams if they are going to be babies and whine or retaliate for being provoked! Its a part of the game....ignore and move on.

The teams are there for a match....not to make best buddies on the court. They should have both been compassionate and ignore petty things such as calling names or some other form of provocation.

Very childish on both sides. However, Zidane could have realized that butting with a bald head that looked hike a HUGE hammer on to someones ribs is a highly agressive retaliation.

Of course he must have said something harsh to pissedoff the world best player as it was his last international game.He should respect the world best player. I did not know that Materazzi can get that low. Winning and loosing is the game but to respect is one big thing.

Being a footballer myself, it was most likely a series of events that led up to the mysterious head butt, accompanied by the mounting frustration of playing 100+ minutes without being able to close the deal. But in all likelihood, he probably said something about his mother or his wife!

either a dirty terrorist, or a dirty arab terrorist or somthing, and since zidane immigrated from albania, this, naturally, really pissed him off.
