A rabbit's nose is normally dry to slightly wet. There are normally two reasons why a rabbit's nose is wet.

1. When a rabbit gets hot in the summer, it will tend to get wet around the nose partly due to breathing heavily. If your rabbit is breathing heavily, is wet around the nose, and is leaning it's head back some, then you probably need to cool the rabbit down. Place some water on it's ears, put a frozen 2 liter bottle in for it, get it to a cooler shady spot, put a fan on it, or a combo of the above.

2. The second reason is if it has a cold. If the rabbit has a cold, you will most likely notice it sneezing at some point or if you look at the front feet they will look wet or matted from wiping its nose with its front paws. If the rabbit has a cold, especially for over a week, keep it separated from the other rabbits and take it to a vet to be treated. He should draw a sample to determine what bacteria is actually causing the cold. Often when people refer to colds in rabbits they immediately connect it with Pasteurella, but not all colds in rabbits are caused by pasteurella, so a sample needs to be taken to determine the correct medicine to use. I also recommend not using any rabbits that have a cold for over a week to breed with. I believe that often these colds start through allergies, which allergies can be passed down genetically. My dad and I used to have a lot of problems with colds. Once we started getting rid of the ones that had a cold for over a week, the number/percentage of colds dramatically decreased. We haven't had problems with rabbit colds for over 10 years now, where we used to have problems with them on a daily basis.

Wet nose : It could be as you said the dew on the grass, or it could be that some water from her bottle dropped onto her nose. Shaking : It doesn't sound too normal, i'd keep a close eye on her. When I put my rabbit up sometimes her feet shake a bit if i'm not supporting them. If it was her whole body shaking then I think they may be something wrong. I hope she's okay. x

Rabbits having a wet nose can mean they are sick, but if your rabbit seams fine than it probably is. If your rabbit starts dripping from its nose or has other discharge from its eyes you should get it to a vet immediately. A simple cold can be fatal to rabbits, so just keep an eye on it, everything should be fine.

An overly wet nose is not good. A slightly wet nose is ok. If you are concerned place a call to your vet and they can decide if you should being it in for an appt.

I use to raise rabbits and I found that usally when they were really hot their noises got wet.... is your bunny inside or out side....? if its out side make sure she has a way to keep cool try a frozen bottle of water if shes inside then maybe you should call a vet unless its really hot inside
