Recently bought a new #8 leather wallet and the smell is just truly exotic! Any tanners out there know why?

I am not a tanner but I do know that smell is learned. When trying to create the world's worst smell scientists in the US came accross this problem. They made some horrifc smells that some people hardly reacted to at all.

The hedonics of smell, the good/bad quality, takes several year to mature, this is probably why babies don't mind sitting in dirty diapers. As this sense developes through childhood it is affected by experience. There are some basics though that might explain the leather. The first smell that is inbuilt into us to love is that of skin so that we can find the breast. Perhaps there is something in the leather that has a neurological kickback to mother's skin.

I am not saying your mum is a cow, just might be that mamal skin all smells good because all mamals are programmed to suckle near the skin. Doesn't explain alligator shoes though.

LOL.. awesome contact with "throwing a cow" contained in the trunk, yet i do not imagine that'll artwork. i ought to commence with cleansing the leather-depending fairly properly, then employing a strong sort of leather-depending cleanser and Restorer to the seats. do this on a commonplace foundation and it's going to very much strengthen the sense and look of it. i do not propose those air freshner issues.. they by no potential fairly do the interest strong adequate! that's like the "New automobile scent" airfreshners.. that's fairly no longer the same! strong success, i do not imagine you want to pay $1800-2200 to interchange the leather-depending on all seats, althought that must be a efficient-hearth thanks to get the interest executed!

all depends on the conditioners they use on the leather. different companies use different VOC (volatile organic compounds) on the leather. oldest form is dubbin.
