If you're going to live here - you should know how to speak the language. If you go to another country, they certainly won't learn English for you - you'd better learn their language. Why can't the same hold true here? There's nothing wrong with being bi-lingual, it will help a lot in today's world, but if you're going to live in a country and become a citizen of it, you should learn to speak the language.

English is already supposed to be the U.S. national language. That was decided way back at the creation of the U.S.. It was between English or German, if I remember correctly, and English won out. It is really only with the advent of the whole political correctness era that we are seeing the fact that English is the national language set aside.

even though english is not the official national language, it is technically already the national language. most countries do speak english. I guess we can thank England for that.

English already is the national language. If you are glad it isn't Spanish, Japanese, German, or Russian, thank a veteran.

if so i think no because our languages and cutures r what make us unique and it makes travel interesting imagine if everywhere u went it would be like the states.....not that fun ..
