please can someone help with how to get started and how to get a sponsorship from a company to get her over there and working legally.

I think it is better that she does it legally than become an illegal immigrant. I recommend she start by obtaining a passport and a visa. The visa can be requested from the American Consulate in your country. There may be a waiting period or a visa may never be granted at all... Another way is to marry a man from the USA. Of course, if their marriage does not work and they get divorced she can be deported. Where does your friend live? Why does she want to come to America? What kind of job would she like to have? There are hundreds of countries and there are jobs all over the world...

It would be easier for her to come over on a student visa to study at an American University. After she graduates she could try to get a work visa and maybe find a job, but it's not easy to transfer from one type of visa to another (i.e. school to work). I'd say after she finds a job would be a better time for her to apply for citizenship if she wishes to do so. Otherwise, if she's desperate she could always find an American man and offer him $$$ to marry her until she receives her green card (I think this takes an average of 3-5 years).
