dont you think that classifying yourself as a particular race or sex seperates you from the masses. why do we not get rid of all the special interest groups, right activists, and all the programs and groups that look to keep us seperate and move forward as americans. it seems that there are so many things in the world against us should we really be against one another as well? why dont we work for the rights of americans. or american education, or better wages for americans. these groups are trying to help but it seems like all that is getting done is deviding?

You ask that question as if this country (America) was built with with the understanding that we are all equal. It was not. This country was built on separating it's inhabitants by color, religion, country of origin, you name it. Everyone that lives here today was not always viewed as "American" so that mentality has sorta stuck with us. For immigrants coming in, they had to wait a grace period before even being considered "white", before that they were just "those damn immigrants". Let's not even start on how blacks were treated. . .
