I was an eye witness to a hit and run car accident. I pulled over and gave my info to the victim and told her I would be happy to cooperate as an eye witness for her.

I got home and immediately wrote down the details I remembered so I wouldn't forget anything and when her lawyer called me a couple days later I just emailed him what I had. I never heard from them again, but I feel sure that I helped her out.
