Good quetion. I was pleased to see Mauresmo win. It was great that she actually got to finish off the match this time.
As far as the media coverage revolving around the World Cup. I guess the media loves a "good story". Zidane's stupid decision to head butt another player, which resulted in a red-card, was a sad and disappointing way to end a glorious career. The story even over-shadowed the fact that Italy actually won the match. It's sad but the media seems to prefer scandal and controversy to a positive story.
