Yes.
It hurts a lot. Especially if the person doing the penetrating is clumsy and oafish. It takes finesse, and a bit of preconditioning; it's called foreplay for a reason. If a guy is willing to dive right in, then his partner (the one being penetrated) has every right to kick him right out of bed. Also, position plays an important role. Traditional heterosexual missionary position ain't gonna work. The poop chute isn't designed for ANYTHING to happen that way and it doesn't matter if it's anal penetration or the evacuation of solid waste. DON'T do either in the missionary position.
The most common way to achieve a minimum of pain during such penetrating moments would be to actually squat over the intruding member; this gives you more control over the rate of entry, and also causes a few physiological changes to occurr which would facilitate the presence of the...um...foreign object. Plus, from personal experience (from the penetrating end of things) it gives you a good view of some really interesting facial expressions.
But remember, if you're gonna experiment with anal penetration (as either active penetrator or passive recipient) lube is your friend. Use it. Use LOTS of it, and use condoms as well. Anal tearing IS a consideration, a rather important one and since anal tissue counts as a super-absorbant mucus membrane for those icky venerial diseases, not limited to HIV, then a bit of latex can make the difference between sayin "ouch" and eventually enjoying it, and saying "ouch" and regretting it.

Short answer: Yes
But, the pain can be mitigated by relaxing foreplay before penetration, using plenty of lube, and possibly by starting by inserting a single finger or a small toy and working up to your partner's part.
Many men (well and even some women) find a lot of pleasurable sensations related to anal sex, so anything you can do to reduce the pain, which is mostly associated with initial penetration, the more the enjoyment.

Anal sex can be very enjoyable. There are many men and women both straight and gay that love it. It is going to hurt some the first time or two, but with a loving partner and some time and practice you might be surprised what you like.

It does not hurt if she gets protection (condom) and some preparation h with cream to aid the effects of introduction to new sorrows and pleasures. Dude, just be careful for pain goes together with pleasure for both at different moments. Consider ejaculating out or take out your condom and get into her vagina again for sustained sex with barely pain, let her be on top the rest of the day, she earned it.
It seems sick and can be, delete your inhibitions and enjoy humor like never before, it figures you love her, make no determinations and help her have broader hips and legs, you will like to rub and oint, some indulgement and foreplay are required. Bye.

Really depends on several factors. How big is your partner's penis? Is this your first time? Do you plan on using lubricant - I hope? Is your partner going to let you be in charge of the rate of penetration? Or is he just going to "ram" it home? All in all, I'd say that there will be some discomfort and, yes, you will be sore for a least a couple of days. I suggest the "slow and steady" approach to entrance - ask your partner to let YOU decide the rate of entrance. And by ALL means, do use a lubricant.

if it hurts then your doing it wrong. you have to ease into it, use something small to get her used to it and relaxed. if you just jump right into it without any preperation then yeah it's gonna hurt. also use a water based lube. Some people actually enjoy it when it is done right.
