overly sweet. like too gushy. too overly positive about things.
gives overly nice, maybe even false compliments. overly nostalgic and definitely syrupy sweet. A bit corny.

From what I know sappy is mushy, corny, overly dramatic, and all that sugary sweet sickly stuff ... which is not bad!
