I vaguely remember a song like this, but was it a pop song?

I found a country song sort of like it (by Gaylynn Robinson):

MY PAIN IS YOUR PLEASURE
He's looking fine tonight but he always does and that must be Mrs. Right the one that he loves, once in a while he'll smile at me as if to ease my mind but I don't need sympathy for a love that's blind

My Pain Is Your Pleasure, her love is your treasure

I share his fantasy, now she shares his name

You'll never know how I feel, it's true, there's no way to measure

And as long as she loves you too, My Pain Is Your Pleasure

I can't bear watching him acting so nonchalant, how will this story end, will I find what I've lost, I want to be more than a play thing when the mood hits him right but as along as she wears his ring, I guess I'm losing the fight

(repeat chorus)

Any other hints you can remember?

I know a lot more of the lyrics, but cannot remember the singer also...late 60's, I'd say.

The lyrics I remember are: "My life is spent, in great anticipation; Where will he be when he's not here with me? I only have hours, his alibis and flowers.

We ride the night hiding from tomorrow, a love that's only sorrow...

His footsteps softly fading
