Yes, just wash it on delicate cycle and on cold setting. warm or hot water will distort the shape drastically. Make sure to hang dry. Drying in the dryer can cause fires.

You've gotten quite a mix of answers!
Silk shrinks when washed THE FIRST TIME. If the manufacturer expected for it to never, ever be washed, they may have not washed the fabric before the garment was cut. If the fabric was not washed, then it will be likely to shrink, and the seams and hems may pucker.
If they washed the fabric before the garment was cut, then it won't shrink as a garment. I've got a lot of silk shirts which I wash in the machine - but most of them say that washing is OK. On the ones that only recommend dry cleaning, it's always a gamble - but if I know that it's a shirt I will not want to take to the cleaners every time, I make the gamble, and usually it works out fine. Many garment manufacturers will suggest dry cleaning only, even though the silk is washable. The most risky silks are usually printed or highly textured - very shiny surfaces often change with water, and some of the printing inks and dyes will bleed or fade.

RE:
Has anyone ever washed a 100% silk shirt that says dry clean only?
The shirt is 100% silk, I'd like to wash it even if by hand.

If you are going to do it by hand then only wash out the stains and then take a damp towel and put it in the dryer with a dryer sheet. If you wash it completely then it will shrink big time. Be careful though when you do wash the stains, it might leave a water mark as well. Good Luck!

No the silk will be ruined and the dress will be a misshapen rag. Bring it to the dry cleaners and save it for a fancy occasion next time that will be worth the cost of dry cleaning.

I used to wash mine on gentle cycle, and it would come out just fine. I used dreft detergent, and hung it on a hanger. Not to say all silk items are the same though.

Cool water, mild soap, not detergent. Massage gently. Roll flat on twels to remove excess water. Lay flat to dry.
