i have a 1992 cadillac sedan deville. i recently purchased the vehicle used, and the front suspension appears to have been redone. Although the rear suspension is still the OEM air shock system it came with, i took it to a mechanic and he told me that it could be the air shocks or the compressor pump that just isint working, if thats the case where can i go about getting a pump cheap, or if anyone else has any suggestions its greatly appreciated.

The rear of the vehicle rides lower than the front. And after you go over a bump, you REALLY feel it, and in many cases the rear of the car bottoms out. if anyone knows what this is please let me know!!!!!!

thanks

In a stock suspension the ELC (ELECTRONIC LEVEL CONTROL) sensor is the most likely suspect.

My advice...assuming you are certain that this is the stock rear suspension...is to call around your local salvage yards...you'll be able to get a replacement pump assembly/shocks at a reasonable price.

If it's NOT the original rear suspension, then you can buy aftermarket air shocks, etc. I'd check into it with your local auto parts place like NAPA, Auto Zone, etc.

Hope this helped a little.

you would possibly want to purchase aftermarket air shocks that for the time of high quality condition that automobile. they frequently comprise a hose kit that has a tire like valve on it. On all my autos I purely fixed this decrease back by employing the registration code and ought to regulate it even as ever i favor to yet for the most section i chanced on a stress placing that works and that i purely leave it. If something else of your device works you could hook those shocks as a lot because the unique lines and they are going to artwork as strong because the production facility ones did. They used the same compressor on a number of years and fashions of GM autos, frequently the mounting brackets were the in ordinary words variable so that they don't look that complicated to locate used. no longer efficient if absolutely everyone sells new or rebuilt ones. The administration modules is often a topic and back no longer efficient if absolutely everyone sells those anymore. I easily have tried to get the unique platforms up and operating some circumstances yet continually ended up going to the guide fill.

had the same problem in an 89 sedan deville. most likely not the pump. i replaced the air struts and it was as good as new. its been 7 years and the ride is still very smooth. if it is the pump...(not likely) try a junk yard...if they don't have one the can look on a parts locator to find you one...good luck.

go to a salvage yard and by the way used or new parts like that for that kinda car it not a cheap item in guessing average to replace the pump and shocks used from a salvage yard im guessing ball park figure about 1,500-1,800 for the package not counting labor your better off to by them as a package you save money like lthat i do not recamend bying them new from a dealer it will cost more than the car is worth after labor cost that is a comman car so u can find them in just about any junk yard and look on the net to
