Well, it depends... if you mean whether or not the after show and the celebratory events were the best out of all the past World Cups, then maybe. However, in terms of the actual sport, I would say definitely not. It was a pretty ugly Cup, in fact, with numerous cards being dispensed, faulty calls by referees, teams moving forward because of their acting skills more so than their football skills (and the Oscar goes to…. It’s a tie! Italy & Argentina!!!) and games feeling more like boxing matches than football matches (i.e. Holland v. Portugal). Regardless, it was still entertaining! Viva l’Italia!!! Oh, and in my opinion the best World Cup (in regards to actual football) was 1994...

It was a good World Cup. I was actually glad when Brazil lost to France, because the World Cup has to have some surprises, and if the same team wins every time it'll just get plain boring to watch it, there won't be any excitement to see a team suceed when nobody expected it (in this case Portugal and France). But maybe the referee errors overshadowed the great things of the Cup.

Oh God. I live in Malta and here we're like 30% for Italy and 70% for England. And yesterday the atmosphere here was similar to Italy. I kinda had a sort of heart attack. I was so happy. Even in Malta we had fireworks. And there in Germany, wow the atmosphere as soon as Italy won was splendid. Good job Italy. We love you

No, for me the last WC (in 2002) was the best, because the teams were better in shape. This year, the teams you would expect to win went home earlier then expected, like Brazil. In my case, Japan was really good four years ago! And now see what happened!

Definitely Not. Too many refereeing mistakes. The teams in the knockout phase played too negative and there was not really that many upsets. which for me are often the best part of the world cup)

I think it was OK, but to claim that this is football is an insult to real footbal fans everywhere. All these little nimrods do is run around, kick a fairy dotted ball, and when tbey score a point, take off their shirts, so you can see their little ribs.
