Im educated and have a few years experience in the legal field, particuarly real estate. (unrelated - Ive also waitressed and bartended for years)
I hate working in an office. Any suggestions on what I can get into that will give me a change of scenery and let me use some creativity, plus a steady paycheck?

I should add that I've worked with enough lawyers and enough real estate agents to know that I dont want to pursue either of those paths. I know Im not providing much info, but I feel kind of lost, "stuck" in my job. Thanks to everyone who answers...

I switched to Public Relations (from journalism) about three years ago and love it. Your skills may be useful in PR.
It's great, because you get to be creative and the scenery changes. You can be in or out of the office on any given day.
The only negative is that you have to clean up other people's messes occasionally. They look to you as a miracle worker. :)
It's a big decision. Good luck!

Creativity jobs usually don't come with a steady paycheck unless you become really successful at it. You'll probably go up and down until you get things going.
You can go into beauty school if you're into that stuff. Or you can try journalism and work for a magazine. It's really hard to say since you didn't give any detail on what you're interested in. Your education doesn't say much if that's not what you want to do anyways. What type of creativity are you looking for?
My best advice: Find something you love to do that you would do for free..then find someone that will pay you to do it! That's the only way you'll change your scenary and figure something else out. Good luck! Sorry I wasn't much help.

Personally I hate working in offices, even thouugh I work in one now. I Bartended and Dj for 10 years and thats a lot more fun, but not very secure, and stable work. I get night club consulting jobs now and then, and there fun (went to central America on my last one), but those are few and far between. I think maybe you should make a hobby a job. My friend was a fishing frak and recently bought a fishing boat and became a commercial fisherman. I never seen the guy more happier than now!

If you have a bachelor's, I recommend teaching. You can try it for three years in most cases while avoiding certification. You may love it, since the time commitments aren't bad, and since you get to really be your own boss. I'd guess you're friendly with people, so maybe this is for you. At the very least it's a steady paycheck, albeit not so amazing.
Maybe it's worth a shot if you're desperate for new scenery.

If you are experienced in the legal part of real estate, why not go for the real estate agent license. It does not take that long and you'll be out on the field a lot.

A good way to start is to do a career assessment or aptitude test. Its pretty simple and it gives you a fair assessment based on your personality and logical traits.
I all fairness i cannot give you any concrete advice on this issue as i do not know you personally or even know your current job situation, but you seem to me like a free spirited person who does not like to be pigeon-holed into an unfulfilling job.
Have you thought about working with children or adults with regards to counselling them...like a social worker? What about a career in marketing? I know these are pretty much unrelated to your experience, but they are a few ideas.
Think about them, and let me know what you think :)
Goodluck!

For a total change of pace, check out Starbucks. Lower pay, but they still have benefits, etc.
