With all the hype of the reality show it seems UFC 61 fight was overhyped with Shamrocks performance. Has UFC sold out to mainstream media? Would you pay for another Shamrock vs Ortiz fight?

Truthfully I think the whole fight was a great way to promote ticket sales and paperviews. You have two big names in the sport that everyone knows, the UFC's president Dana White knew exactly whathe was doing when he set this fight up. It is statrting to feel a little like WWE though and that is where Ken should have stayed. No doubt about it,Shamrock is a great fighter.............back in the early 90's. Tito, love him or hate him,he is just a great fighter in his prime and also eleven years younger.
But,I still think I would pay for another fight again, basically because I am a shamrock fan,but in the back of my mind and everybody's mind we know Tito will always win. Maybe Dana White should set up the "40 and over UFC" HA!HA!

I think the right person won and yes, I would pay for another fight between these two. I remember back in the 90's people would get all pissed off when they'd buy a Tyson fight and it would end too soon, but some things are what they are. Maybe some people are better at getting their business done than others. I was a little puzzled by the fight stoppage that early, but even if it had continued, they would have had to stop it before too long anyway unless they wanted to scrape a dead Shamrock out of the Octagon.

UFC does seem in danger of selling out. The staged faceoff of Silva and Liddell the other night is WAY too much like Pro wrestling with its pseudo grudge matches.

Shamrock needs to retire already. He should take a page from Couture's book and do it gracefully.

The only fight I'd pay to see with Ortiz in it would be a rematch between him and Liddell.
