I'd rather receive whatever gift I was given because I am not a selfish little waste of human flesh.

I'd rather have a giftcard to my favorite store. I know that always seems like the easy way out with presents, but people love them because then they get exactly what they want. It's never mattered to me when people bought me giftcards. I didn't think, "Wow...this person really didn't want to spend any time on me".

I'm not the sentimental type, so family heirlooms wouldn't really interest me that much. I call myself a minimalist, so I don't keep very many things around and this would just clutter up my home. Maybe when I'm older and my parents are gone, I'll appreciate antiques that they owned a lot more, but for now, I'm into contemporary.

I have never and hopefully never will collect anything. I live in a very small house, so finding a place to put a collection would be close to impossible. So coins for a coin collection wouldn't be a good gift for me. However, for an avid coin collector, this might be the perfect gift. If you are trying to pick out a gift for someone in particular and they do collect these, I might go ahead and get this for them. It would show them that you know something about them and want to help them gain all the pieces to their collection.

family heirloom has more meaning and is worth more than all the rest. that can be passed down for generations, when a giftcard will probably only buy you something that you will use in less than a year

A family heirloom would have the most meaning to me. However, that gift card could be put to good use!

A gift card to a book store. They sell books, music, movies, food, misc.. A book is a way to escape to another time or place. It's a journey waiting to be taken.

A family heirloom but I'm a sentimental person. Someone else might like something different.
