the 4 week cycle is divided in fertile and non-fertile times, and naturally, the period. when you start your period, it accounts for the first day of your cycle. the cycle lasts about 28 days. then, the best date to get pregnant is 14 days after your period started. but thats not the only day. the sperms can live up to some time and then fertilize an egg some time later. basicly, they can live from 24 hours (for male sex carrier sperms) to 48 hours or a lil longer (for female sex carrier sperms). and when you ovulate you have a period in which the egg stays in the matrice waiting to be fertilized, and then start moving on. the whole process could reach 7 days!!! but basicly the higher chances are from 2 days before day 14 to 2 days after day 14... that is from day 12 to day 16 after you get your period... so after that you have about 12 days before your period in which chances are very low, especially when you reach the 17th day after your period.

It differs.
If you want to get pregnant, 14 days before your period is usually the best time. If you don't want to get pregnant, you can conceive on any day of your cycle, even if you use birth control!

It is different for every woman, so buy an ovulation kit so you know exactly when you can get pregnant.
