No, go for it. Quality will speak for itself. Get the help of an adult, parent.

Well, it really depends on the story you have to tell in your book.
You might want to try short stories for magazines (as opposed to trying a book right off the bat- they're a mountain of work to complete), which buy them on merit, not on the age of the writer. If you get rejected there, try teen fiction mags which publish short stories and articles, but usually wont pay for them, unless youre popular with the readers.
Keep in mind you are still a minor and are not legally able to enter into a contract. Publishers of large houses fear dealing with teens for this, and also something known as the instability factor. Teens are crazed, lust filled hooligans, these guys think, how regular am I gonna get books from this kid?
So, with all these disadvantages working against you, what can you do to be a best selling author before learning to drive?
Create a story so compelling and so well written, they would be fired for refusing to publish it

This is a cut throat industry, and you will have to be as good as the next published writer for any publisher to take any notice of your talent - this is not to say that you have to write in the same style, as having a young manner to your writing may just be what makes you stand out - however, there will have to be a basic amount of technique involved, otherwise no one will be willing to take you on - get your work out there, and carry on writing new stuff, and if you have the drive and the talent, then it is only a matter of time before someone will recognise that and snatch you up.
Good luck.

Not at all. The Guiness Book of World Records lists a little girl who published a book of poetry at the age of 7. She had written it when she was 5. And the author of one of the best sellers of kids books (I think it's called Eragon) is just a teenager. And if you get rejected, don't worry about it. Most classic books got rejected by publishers several times over.

In terms of one's skill in producing something that people will want to read, I'd say no. But to the extent that getting a book published probably involves signing a contract, or some sort of legal agreement/document, there may be an age of consent issue (16yrs, 18, 21, or whatever pertains in your country).

Several years ago a fourteen year old boy not only wrote a very good story in the Thieve's World fantasy genre and had it published, but he became the youngest published author in history and has made several million dollars in the meantime. Just from his writing.

No, I heard that a 7 year old published a book. You are never too young to publish a book.

hopefully to give you a bit of inspiration, check out the website i've put as a reference below. The writer is a lady called S. E. Hinton and you might have read some of her books: 'That was then, this is now', 'The Outsiders', 'Rumble Fish' etc.
She wrote these books starting when she was a teenager and became really successful, got called 'the voice of youth' even. i remember reading some of them when i was at school and thinking she'd got inside my head.
the point is, as long as you've got a good story to tell and you tell it well, your age is no barrier. Good luck!!

No. If you're old enough to write coherent sentences, you are old enough to publish a book. The trick is to make your book relevant to some segment of the population so people will actually want to buy it.
