the tps sensor is suppose to be connected to the computer on the caprice classic .

this is a throttle position sensor. this sensor tells the computer how wide open the throttle is, and then the computer calculates the needed fuel and air ratio.

Throttle position sensor, it tells computer what position the intake plate on the throttle body is ( in percentage ) it is located on the side of the throttle body .
