And I'm sure this one will no doubt get tons of answers.. more people answer a question or questions like "How did people wipe themselves before toilet paper was invented?" or "does my butt stink" then actual questions on serious issues like world hunger, child support or crime.. Are most of the people on YA really just idiots?..don't answer that..this is really just a test to prove something to another blogger.. so why do you think people give more answers to idiotic questions they do intellegent questions

I agree. I guess a no-brainer gets points faster then one you have to put thought to. Instant gratification comes to mind.

Because -

1. Idiotic questions can appeal to a common sense of humour
2. Idiotic questions can appeal to those who think that they are 'wacky', or outraged by how stupid they are!
3. Easy points. You are not going to be reported for stupidity if you have answered a stupid question, as opposed to a 'sane' one where you have to think.

Given these very common elements, this gurantees that a higher percentage of people will comment on these 'stupid' questions, rather than 'specialist' questions that few people will know the answer to, such as Ford Mustang fan belts, or the political situation in Nova Scotia.

People always ask this question...if you're going to ask a specific question, one that only a person knowledgeable in that area can answer, then you have to be patient. Most of the time no one answers, or some idiot trying to be funny. Also, I doubt this site is frequented by intelligent do gooders, looking to change the world. I think it's mainly bored teenagers trying to be funny.

EVERYBODY has their own answer/idea on how people wiped before toilet paper. Not everybody knows how the Prairie Dog was important to the plains Indians between 1450 and 1452.

The dumb questions are more fun.

So relax and stop calling people stupid until you find your shift key.

Well, people don't have to think or research to answer dumb questions.

Dumb questions are usually easier questions also, which works well in this site's propensity for instant gratification.

I do try to ask intelligent, thoughtful questions as well. We may be the exception rather than the rule.

It's because everyone can answer a stupid question, only intellectual people answer the difficult questions. There are a lot more less intelligent people in this world, thus a lot more on yahoo.

Because, not all the people has the "intelligence level" to answer those question that are about serious issues, or maybe don't want to give a wrong answer,

Before tp? I'd not thought of that before. I suppose you'd have to grab a handful of leaves or shrubbery.
