It would not have made a difference. Trezeguet would have still taken a penalty it would have been some else that Zidane replaced and thus Italy wins anyway since they missed none. So those that think Zidane would have made a difference in the shootout are wrong.
Would it have mattered in the last few minutes of overtime? Maybe but they hadn't scored in the 100 or so minutes leading up to that(having scored early in the game on a penalty) what makes you think that was going to change. Heck Italy only gave up 2 goals the whole tournament an own goal and a penalty.

Hard to say... both teams played so well, and they were head-to-head going into the penalty kicks. I think it was dumb luck the Italians won, it could have just as easily been the French. If only Trezeguet's kick was a couple inches lower!!!

Maybe Trezeguet would have kicked a penalty anyway -- he is one of their champions and he was fresher than other players since he entered late in the game. If so, no.
