Yes although Highly illegal if you do not own the DVD. You can use a program called DVDShrink which is located at the link above. This should only be used for backing up the DVD's you own. Also it helps if you have a program called Nero installed so that when it breaks the copy protection on the DVD you can burn with DVD Shrink.

This is a "keeping up with the crooks" technology question.
Media companies want you to pay for their content. They therefore
try to force technology companies (such as DVD writer vendors) to
add technology that it will make it difficult for you to steal content.
This is currently done by the writer detecting a special piece of
data in the stream to be recorded and refusing to go further.
However, to get that data onto the original DVD, guess what ...
they had to have a DVD recorder that wouldn't do that.
Moreover, you can certainly "rip" the contents of the DVD onto your
computer and remove the offending data before writing.
Generically, there will always be a technology battle here until
we realize that intellectual capital cannot be technologically
protected.
Until then, it is unlikely if you are trying to do this that you are
obeying the law, from the original DVD vendor's point of view.
Some people are legitimately trying to backup media that they
think will fail, but in most cases, people are trying to have
multiple media so multiple people can view the same content
at different times in different places, against the clear intent
of the vendor.
Do you steal just because nobody is looking?

Get DVD43free then use the copy program of your choice, I use NERO. Only one to date I have not had success with is Pink Panther. I have no problem making backups of my collection.
