I have lived a life of being very careful what I say and to not hurt anyone else's feelings....I let people walk all over me and treat me like dirt....that stopped 2 yrs. ago....I finally started sticking up for myself and telling it like it was....a lot of people did not appreciate this change in me....mind you, I was never rude about speaking up..just honest and forward. I spoke my honest opinion and when someone started to treat me in a way that I felt was uncalled for...I told them about it. I have reconsidered a lot of freindships because of this and I have lost quite a few ....but let me tell you, I'm sooooo much happier and I have peace of mind now...no-one can replace these feelings and I would do it all over again if given the chance.
My advice to you is to always be honest, as long as you aren't saying or doing anything in a super negative way....it's just the better road to take, you'll feel better about yourself knowing that you've given it your all!

One of my worst qualities is that I am too honest. I am always getting in trouble because of it. I don't understand why people ask for the truth if they don't want to hear it. But you know...that's just me. I believe in honesty and I refuse to start lying just to make other people happy. Hope this helps.

Alway be honest. You may not be liked but you will be respected.
I am this way...I don't lie...I was taught that lying is like putting a black mark on your soul. Are there times I won't tell the truth...yes...like expaining something to one of my younger children when I don't think they can handle or understand the truth. I may not have many friends...but the ones I do have know they can trust me always.

Depends on the situation, you have to pick your battles wisely. And you do not necessarily have to go along worth the moment you can say nothing at all in some instances just so that you are not agreeing just to agree.
