i have a jack to jack, but can't seem to get my mac to record.. any help?

i can't seem to get the mac to recognise the audio in - is audio in next to headphones socket? should i open quicktime pro and record off that?

You have QT Pro? Exelent. Okay, plug it in to the input plug. Not sure which Mac you have, but yeah, it's probably going to be next to the headphones out. Open up QT Pro, and navigate to it's preferences. Click on the Recording Tab, and select line-in for your audio input. Also go to System Preferences > Sound > Input, and change your audio level setting. If you choose to use Garageband, Audacity, or something like that, you may have to go into the preferences to choose the correct audio source, especially if your mac has a built in mic or an iSight camera.

you have to do it trough usb or firewire
