My Cat = Blacky...because I got him when I was 5 and he's black and that was the extent of my creativity lol

My Dog = Lobo....because it means "wolf" in spanish and he has markings around his face that look like a wolf's fur.

My Roommates Cat = Milo....because he's orange and she took the name out of the movie "milo and ottis"

When I was young my best friend and I got puppies at the same time and we each named the others dog. She named mine "Whitney" after whitney houston because my puppy was black and she loved whitney houston. I named hers "mariah" because hers was tan and I loved (and still do) Mariah Carey!!!

But some people go with conventional names..

Cats....boots paws kitty whatever
Dogs ...Fido rover spot spike etc....

My cat's name is Trinity
I was going to get a dog and named it NEO
We have a dog now and her name is Dimond

We named Trinity after that actress in the Matrix
and of course NEO, when we get a male dog from the same movie., We just like the movie and their names.
Dimond comes from our dog having a white shape spot on her chest.

I like when people name their dog/s human names. I was at the park once when I heard a women calling, "Steve....Steven!" and a huge, dopey, adorable black Lab came bounding towards her- not exactly what I was expecting....so I would go for a funny human name. My brother-in - law has two dags- Morty and Myrna...too funny.
My dogs name is LuLu (she's a petite long-haried, blonde Chihuahua) it fits...then I have a 21 year old black cat named Nelson. She's named after a guy my ex roommate had a crush on...it was his last name, too bad the cat's female!

My dogs are Jake and Nana.

My mom named her Nana because in some movie she liked there was this dog named Nana. You could name it after a movie dog you like.

As for cats, not a big fan, so I don't worry about the names of those. A lot of people tend to use Fluffy, though......

My dog's name is Lauren, but that gets shortened a lot to Laurie and Laur. I also call her Chica or (more commonly) Chicadee. Why? She came with the name Lauren and I didn't want to change it, but all the nicknames have just come naturally.

My cat is named Rorschach but I usually call him Ror or Rory. His name is Rorschach because he's black and white like an inkblot test, but since that's a mouthful to say, Ror works a lot better. Not to mention the fact that he yowls (roars) a lot - I swear he's got to have some Siamese heritage, as much as he "talks"...

there are too many.....it just depends on my pets personality, or should i say caninality, and or the looks of my new found friend. but I will tell you I have a cat and her name is jazmin chooley cat and my last name on the end of that but I will refrain from posting that on the internet. best of luck with your search for groovey names.....(one thing that is interesting to do if you are interested in some ....unique names is to spin a globe around with your finger on it and where it stops if you and your pet like the name go with that.) one more thing my cat is siamese looking and has a some what sweet but high above you, sophisticated felinality and the name jazmin just seemed to fit her.

Dog - Checkers. He is black and white. I've also had another dog named Daisy. Charlie is a really good name for big dogs (male) - like labs or something. Cute names that arent people's names are usually good for smaller dogs

I have two dogs named dougal and Sammie and two tortoises named Fred and Ginger. I named them these names becuase it's what felt right I suppose with their chractor. My Uncles got four dogs Suzie, Tia, Lady and Tramp. Tia means Aunty and since my uncle got the other two dogs about a week ago tia has been like their mum telling them off so we think its very apprpriate( we found out tia meant aunty after they named her)
