yes. not the whole lung but chronic smokers end up coughing part of their lung. its true.

Yes, pieces of a lung can be coughed up. I've seen it happen before while working at the hospital.

I once saw this guy with chronic cancer cough up small pieces of his lung on the Discovery channel. Thank god i stopped smoking 8 weeks ago. Well just an occasional toke now and again.

The worst part about getting a lung transplant is coughing up someone else's phlegm.

Yupp sure I do that every hour. and I’ve donated tons that way…..if you want I could cough up one for you maybe in the next 30 mins :)

not the entire lung. that would be horrible! yuck. you can couch up parts of your lungs. my uncle told me this. he is a doctor. i think this happens to chronic smokers. not sure but i'm 75%

there has been those few times i felt like i barfed up a lung but i think its still all in there, at least i hope it is.

sometimes you cough up pieces of it... i've heard it happens but i'm not sure.

no, but I have coughed up spare change before. (I swallowed a quarter as a kid)
