Whether tap water is good or bad for you depends on where you live;
- In many places tap water is filtered and treated, which makes it safe for drinking; unfiltered tap water can contain harmful solids, dissolved minerals, and bacteria.
- Even filtered water can be unsafe to drink if your home have old pipes; you might notice a sedement in your glass.
- In some rare cases, unfiltered tap water will contain beneficial minerals, and would be healthier than if it was filtered. However, always be wary of your provider's refusal to filter tap water while citing such benefits, as it is usually a lie.
