Thick as you order it. most places will cut to specks but granite and marble come in about the same thickness’ Granite is more durable and less porous.

go to diy shops or shops like that and ask them what there thickest natural stone tile is and explain to them that u want to use them as a bases for ornament tiles it works i tried it

Marble, limestone & slate are easy to buy.

For extra thick pieces try a monumental mason or a fireplace manufacturer....or a local quarry.
