Did anyone hear about Benjamin Hendrickson (Hal) from As The World Turns committed suicide? Why would he do that?

I was shocked when I learned that he had passed on. I did not know until the end of the July 12th taping.
May he rest in peace. I truly enjoyed him as an actor on the show.
He will be missed by many.

apparently People magazine had a detailed story on its website as of today. I had a friend who committed suicide and to this day, I wonder why. I had tried it twice and did not succeed, thank God. Benjamin Hendrickson was very talented...

Why someone commits suicide is a mystery. But, I read an article on Fox News and it said he had been depressed since the death of his mother in 2003. It also speculated that performing the current story line with his soap opera daughter Jennifer dying may have been more than he could take. I still think the answer to why someone would kill themselves is impossible to answer.

Only a teen, she was real skillful in that. 5) Dusty Donovan 6) Paul tearing into Rose De'Angelo @ the altar in front of the whole town because he believed that she had "balled" Dusty the night before.

Yes, I heard it. No, I nor any one else can explain it entirely. But those of us who have suffered with depression can explain it to ourselves on a certain level. One cannot describe the pain of depression to those who are not afflicted wtih it. We can't "just be happy". Oh how we wish we could. I so loved Benjamin's character and missed him when he had a sub.
Benjamin finally acted on the worst of a sad disease that he had no control over, just like so many other diseases that we have no control over. Do not judge him, please. He gave us much pleasure as an actor. Remember that.
I am not speaking as an expert on depression. Only giving my peronal experience and feelings. So, please don't barage me with questions or hate mail. I am hurting for a man who lost the hope to go on.

Depression is a funny thing. I have had people in my life commit suicide and you are always left with "Why?"

Yes, I heard that he killed himself last Friday. Watching him right now and the story line that he is going through is so sad. His last few tapings were talking of death. They said his last day on the show is July 12. He'll be missed.
It's hard to understand why someone kills themselves when they seem to have it all. But, none of us really knows what was going on in his mind.

I think that he probably had some issues in his life that he could'nt
take. Some people when they have things that are going on in
their lives they simpley can't take it.

Maybe it was a kurt cobain situation... he didn't like who he'd become and could no longer stop the mechanism that is society today...
