ask your ob but i dont think it would hurt. Your body needs all the vitamins it can get because your baby will take all yours. And make sure you get enough calcium because they will take it from your teeth and bones and thats not good
but you should take prenatals no matter what...you need the folic acid to prevent birth defects

I would switch to a prenatal vitamin. But any vitamin is better then none. There are some vitamins that have higher levels of certain vitamins that may not be the best for pregnancy. You can get prenatals over the counter at most grocery stores. You don't have to get a prescription for them. It's good that you are taking a vitamin. Just check with your doctor about what they think. They may suggest that you switch, or they could say to stay on them.

i took a women's one a day Thu the 1st 8 weeks of my pregnancy. At my 8 week ob appointment I was started on a pre natal vit. I told the ob i was taking the one a day's. He said that was fine and the as long as they had folic acid in them. He said the pre natals were better and to swith to them. The one a days will not hurt the pregnancy if taken one a day. Taking more then one could cause a problem. Vit c and vit A should not be done in LARGE DOSES in pregnancy. You do need a good prenatal vitamin thou for your health and the babies.

It is very good to take a multi vitamin, however you would probably do better with a prenatal vitamin, they are easier on the stomach and geared more towards your special needs at this time! I know many people who continue to take them after the are pregnant because they seem to help hair and nails grow better too....
Congrats and Good Luck....

One-a-day are safe I am sure - but you might be better off with a prenatal vitamin. They cater to the increased demand on certain vitamins and minerals needed during pregnancy. Especially folic acid and iron.

No. There is not enough folic acid and other nutrients in them for pregnancy. You need regular pre-natal vitaminsand you need to continue taking them the whole time you breastfeed, if you plan on breastfeeding.

Check with your doctor; only s(he) knows what's best for you. But I would say no if you're also taking the prescribed pre-natal vitamin because you could be taking too much folic acid and it could cause constipation.

If you dont eat right..then yes. Prenatal vitamins dont do anything more then supermarket vitamins. I took no vitamins while pregnant..I just ate well balanced and healthy meals.

I know you should take Fish Oil by Carlson/Krill Oil by Vibrant Health.
And get sun, and eat right.
Then, you won't need multivitamins my dear.
Godd Luck, e-mail me if you need to.
Ask your dr about Fish Oil.
