On this site I have seen people asking "questions" that are calling for killing or harming the president. I could not stand Bill Clinton's policies but I never wished harm to come to him and I don't wish that now. Who is the party of peace and tolerance and who isn't.

No. That's ridiculous. I'm a liberal Democrat and in no way wish harm towards our President. As you said, regardless of what I think about the President's policies, I wouldn't wish harm to come to him either. However, do not contribute the words of a few people on this site to an entire party. Those are the words of extremists, not of the entire Democratic party.

Not only is killing someone you don't like politically morally wrong - it's also stupid. The person then becomes a martyr and everything terrible that they ever did is forgotten, or at least taboo to mention.

Regarding the parties - they aren't responsible when some not-too-bright individuals who no one ever heard of advocate violence. They are, however, when they embrace hate-filled viragos like Ann Coulter, who has publicly called for the killing of several people, including Bill Clinton and Justice Stevens, as well as "wishing" that Timothy McVeigh had gone to the NY Times building. And most recently there was that radio(?) host who wants to send the executive editor of the Times to the gas chamber for treason (silly woman - doesn't she know we shoot traitors?) for publishing information that has been out there for ages and which was also published by two other papers.

I am incredibly opposed to George W. Bush's policies and his profound disrespect for the Constitutional "Separation of Church and State."

That said, I have never wished harm to him of any kind. That would not solve any problems. It would, in fact, cause more problems. Anyone who would call for the assassination of a person they don't agree with is not only morally challenged, they are also helping to give a quantum boost to the policies and ideals that person stands for.

I believe the assassination of an individual in power, especially who is viewed in a religious light, would make that person a martyr in the eyes of their followers. This could potentially lead to the people who agree with that person to become much more active in pushing policy. Also, it could push people who were in the middle or just staying out of the picture, to become active as well.

Assassination is not a cure or solution to anything. It is one person attempting to take something far larger than themselves into their own foolish hands.

Do I think George Bush should be in office? Yes. He was elected fairly into office. Do I agree with his policies? Absolutely not. Is there anything I can do? I can vote. We all can.

If you don't agree with someone in office in the US, you have a right to cast your vote against that person. You even have the right to gather together and draw attention to your beliefs and help others get motivated to elect someone else. Assassination is not the answer at all.

Only a fool would suggest it as such.

First off I have to say that is the dumbest question I have ever seen so I had to respond. I may not like the decisions this president has made but I wouldnt want him dead over it. Yes do I think he has put many of our soldiers in an early grave over his bad decision but doesnt make it right to kill him. Two wrongs dont make a right. No matter what kind of man he is he still has family and friends who care for him. Not everyone will agree with all decisions made in politics and in life. Just because someone doesnt agree doesnt make it right to talk about assassination.

I think Bush is the biggest joke in history when it comes to being President, but I wouldn't want to see him assassinated. Having lived through the JFK assassination, I hope the country never has to go through anything like that again. Besides, if Bush were to be assassinated, he couldn't be put on trial for war crimes. He should be made to spend the rest of his life in a solitary prison cell, locked away from the rest of the world. But definitely not assassinated.

If Hugo Chavez is going to warfare with Colombia like he's threatening to do then mockingly Pat Robertson may were top to call for his assassination, if only Hitler became shot by technique of a sniper how historic previous may have replaced.

That has nothing to do with parties. It's just idiots doing that sort of thing. We as democrats don't want the president dead. The few people who say stupid things like that are either doing it for shock value and they want to get a rise out of you, or they are just ignorant. They DO NOT represent the democratic party.

Bush is the ignorant puppet figurehead of a vast network of people (corporations). His death would do nothing to ameliorate the situation. These people have worked many years to accomplish their agenda.

I would be like getting rid of a cartoon character, but not going after the animationists,
