People have many reasons why they hate someone for the color of their skin or their culture. I see people do bad things to others and I say to myself, why do they have to be black. Lots of people hate Muslims because of Sept 11. Lots of people hate white people because of the slavery days. Who knows. Your guess is as good as mine. It's reassuring to know that there are others out there that are not racist.

please don't claim not to judge other people. Everyone judges other people. i think it would be a sad day when no one judges anyone else. If would mean that we have not moral beliefs - child molesters are not bad, murders are not bad....
Please stop reciting the tired, mindless mantra or "not judging people."
Ok, not that I got that out of the way…
I grew up in a town that seems to be a center of immigration. The town has a lot of everyone. The only racism that I saw was from the poor, lazy, minorities. No, I am not claiming that all minorities are poor or lazy. I am saying that a group of minorities who were poor (as a result of their laziness) were the most racist people who I have ever met.
But, I do have to agree with you to some extent. Racism is everywhere and is quite often promoted or even mandated by the government. So-called affirmative action is a perfect example. It assumes that everyone in a position of power is racist and thus forces him/her to high employees based on skin color. In many organizations within the federal government, executives actually get bonuses for hiring non-white employees – regardless of skill level or qualifications.
I also see the media supporting racism. When ever there is a white person committing a crime against a non-white person, the news reports it as a possible “hate crime.” But not once have I see them report a “hate crime” when a white person is a victim of a crime committed by a ‘minority.”
When in high-school I hear a group of black students (friends/acquaintances of mine) all sitting around talking about white people not being athletic, all being racist… I walked over to them and asked, “you think that I have to be racist because my flesh has less pigmentation than yours? Do you have any idea how stupid that is? Do you realize that your very statement shows that you are racist?” The response that I got was a bunch of mumbling and they all dispersed. One of them (a kid I’d been friends with for about 10 years) said, “he’s white, he’s can’t understand us. He can’t help but to be racist.”
So, sadly I have to agree with you. Racism is quite prominent in the US – even though it can not compare to the racism that exists in every other country.

It is sad, but things are changing. slowly but surely. if there were more people teaching their children about the good things about other races, creeds, and colors then this would be a better place to live. Until then keep instilling those good values in your family and encourage them to instil those same values in their own children one day. That's the only real way to stop racism.

I dont think that is fair to say. Its a proven fact that everyone is racist in some way or another. Im not puttin you down or anything but truthfully it is not possible for people not to be racist.
