I think they are electric and need one with 4 wheels not 3 wheeled ,I live in the St.Louis area and/or in southern Illinois,Kentucky,Tennesee area near Barkley Lake in Kentucky .He's 86 years old and has a real trouble getting down to the lake from his little cabin thats about mile away.Thank you Eddie

Buy him a quad-runner......all terrain off-road 4 wheeler....Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, etc......
