When i was in college and started doing my own laundry i never separated anything unless it was a new shirt or shorts that were colored. I think afte you wash things a few times their chance of bleeding goes down.

I only used warm water too, never the hot stuff.

If jeans have been washed before, they probably won't bleed the color & can all be washed together. Polos with dark stripes can go with dark colors & light stripes can go with light colors. Wash like colors together. I recommend the Shout Color Catchers just to make sure that striped shirts don't bleed into the white stripes. They really work.

White with white, wash in hot water, use bleach if you have it. Dark with dark, doesn't matter if not all the colors match, the only thing to be concerned with is whether the color will run, for first time washes. Always used cold water for darks. Tide now had a detergent just for this. Happy washing. LOL As you see from the answers, everyone has thier own way to do laundry.

If you don't have bleach the best way to separate your clothes is the same way you would with bleach. Your whites should be together and washed with Hot water. Your jeans need to be washed together, your darks, your colors. as for your light and dark jeans..........if you have enough to make 3 loads..........dark blue jeans together, light together and black together. Your srtpied polos.........if they are colorful use with colors. if they have a little color and alot of white, wash with whites. The secret to bleaching colors with regular bleach is to dilute the bleach with hot water before adding the clothes. Pour a capful of bleach in with detergent and hot water and let fill upo and mix good befor adding clothes. I would recomend using fabric softner becasue it keeps your clothes from fading too quickly

you have to wash the white clothes together than the color ones together but not with the whites. the stripes jeans are suppose to be in the color pile and no you dont seperate the dark from the lighter jeans.

Depends on what color the stripes are. Dark colors in one load, lights in another, whites in another. I always separate my dark jeans from the light ones....towels go with towels, jeans with jeans, sweats with sweats. Dark colors in cold water, lights in warm or hot depending on how dirty or stained they are. Just keep in mind that colors bleed so unless you want your light colored polo to come out with pink stains all over it from a red shirt you threw in there I would try my hardest to keep them separated. Good luck!

ok is the majority dark or light thats how - if you have a garment that might bleed color don't put anything white with it - nowadays most garments tell you how to wash them- i usually put my stripes in the smaller of the 2 loads since like you say we are not using bleach

I dont seperate anything once items have been washed a few times. For everyday items thats arent soiled with dirt or mud, cold water is fine and less expensive to use.
