I prefer hardwood floors over wall to wall carpet. You can only vacuum a carpet, but you can sweep & mop your wood floors. If you want to shampoo your carpet that usually costs a lot of money. Therefore it's easier & less expensive in the long run to have hardwood floors. Plus if you want a carpet just purchase a throw rug to put on top of your wood floors. That way you have the best of both worlds.

I've had both. I PREFER hardwood. Carpets get dirty and stuff gets collected that you can't get out. Once you have the wood floors you can see every bit of dirt on the floor. It's better for people with allergies too.

Well I have both and now that I see how much dirt there is on the hardwood it makes me sick to think what is under those carpets, I have to sweep and mop everyday. (I live in the desert and yes it does get windy here and I do have a dog and a desert landscape, but my word the dirt that comes in)! I cringe just thinking about what is under the carpets worn in, hardwood is easy to clean and you can see the dirt and clean it easily. So I love the tile and hardwood!

Hardwood floors, they are easy to keep clean. Also, they are better for allergies. I recently pulled up old carpet and was amazed at how much dirt and other “yucky” stuff was trapped under the carpet.

I prefer carpet because its easier to vacuum then to mop an entire house. But I love the hardwood because it makes the house look so much nicer.

Hardwood floors are easier to keep tidy, plus they are much better for people with allergies.
Also, if you put a matte finish on the wood, instead of a shiny one, the dust specks don't show so badly.

I PREFER hardwood cause carpet intends to get stained faster and hardwood is eaiser to clean .

Carpet...all hardwood floors are COLD when you're not walking around with socks on.
