Were travelling with first choice in May 07 to Agadir, for 1 week. We wish to take a few excursions, maybe full day or just a few hrs, whats there to see?

How do we book? Im assuming we can book with First choice direct? Cant see anything on their website.

I was in Agadir this past Easter and can tell you that the most popular day trip is to Marakesh. It offers the total Moccaan experience with its marketplace and architecture. You should be able to book this type of excursion right in the lobby of your hotel or resort, if not through your tour operator. There'll be camel rides on offer, but beware because having been on it I can tell you the guide will pull you a few kilometres on the camel (which is cool) but the tour itself is owned by very greedy and questionable owners. They took a fit when I tried to give money to some little children living in shanty towns-they wanted it for themselves. Do give money to the children, but try not to take pictures of them. Agadir is beautiful-do try the Berber Massage which is native to the area. It'll send you spinning. Watch for stray dogs beaten up and travelling in packs, and abandoned donkeys in the street. The merchants are pushy and will tell you absolutely anything to make a sale, so beware and do the math!

They have a great market. The only problem is if you are in a big group, the guide has already made a deal where(or with what merchants) he will take you and that will limit your choices at the market. Another big thing there was the camel rides(makes for a good pic). Dining at a local restaurant is usually part of the day trip which was very different. That's about all we did other than walk around and take lots of pics.

I would imagine the ferry companies have information on booking tours. Your best bet would be your tour company. Have fun. It is very different from what we are used to seeing in the West.

Keep in mind, if you're from the U.S., you might be surprised by Customs not letting you bring back the oddest things that you bought there. For example, I bought some little bongo drums, that were made of baked clay. Upon return to the U.S., Customs would let me keep them because of a powder residue covering the bongos. They said it could be Anthrax. Amazing.

I am from Agadir, let me tell if you come here just keep your eyes open!.. you have to keep attention with everything hapens around you.. not every arabic is a moslim and not every moslim is arabic.. the moslim is most thrustful .. if you want to buy anything hre you have to make a deal " you ask how mauch does this cost.. respnde dirctelyy : Oh too much for it... oh no " do like if you want to leave and let him.." and after he will ask you another price. you don't have to accept. just tell him if he wants the half or less then the half of the price that he told ya..and if you don't satisfy remind him that God ALLAH see everything around us now...
Fisrt thing you must have when you come.. get a car.. there are some agances for lending cars for a week or ten days as you want.. and look out for a map.... there nothing big to see in AgadirCity except the big traditionel market and the longest beach.. there are some place out of agadir... i ll give here some names.. in the north from 11km"called Aourir the best place to have a Tajin for lunch". and "13 km ..17km" beachs .. 18 km Taghazout beach.. .21 the most dangerous beach it named MADRABA special place for surfing.. keep going til the Imousoan. and if countinue you ll find a little ESSAOUIRRA city...
in the south its the desertparadise... you have to visit TIZNIT and its regional .. like AGLOU.. MIRLEFT.. ..or on the high mountains TAFRAOUT .....you have a long way to drive...
Don't thrust any want.. you can't make a differnce between a moslim or any other persone.. people here about 60% forget alot of things about islam.. Do what you like noone will ask you...
