Before I found out I was pregnant I smoked a lot of marijuana and I did shrooms one time. Could there be problems with the baby, and if so what? I did quit as soon as I found out I was pregnant (I was already 2 months) and I quit smoking cigerettes also. Serious answers only please.

First of all, stop worrying. What's done is done, and you have taken steps to make sure that you are doing what's right for your baby now. The stress of worrying can actually do harm, so start thinking positively. There is little chance that your drug habits harmed your baby, but you will be unable to tell this early. It depends on how much you smoked, how long, and how healthy you were otherwise before you got pregnant. Ask your doctor, he will be able to reassure you especially since you have already quit using drugs. Treat yourself right from now on, and whatever you do.....DO NOT START USING AGAIN after the baby is born. That WILL HARM your baby emotionally and physically. Good luck, congratulations, and have some fun being pregnant.

Cigarette smoking during pregnancy has long been associated with adverse outcomes, including low birth weight, preterm birth, and intrauterine growth retardation and with infant morbidity and mortality (including sudden infant death syndrome)

Increased tremulousness, altered visual response patterns to a light stimulus, and some withdrawal-like crying have been noted in the newborn infants of women who smoked marijuana heavily while pregnant.

Dramatic withdrawal symptoms are the most frequently observed consequence to newborns from prenatal narcotics exposure. Restlessness, tremulousness, disturbed sleep and feeding, stuffy nose, vomiting, diarrhea, a high-pitched cry, fever, irregular breathing, or seizures usually start within 48-72 hours.

Growth disturbances and other behavioral effects such as hyperactivity, shortened attention spans, temper tantrums, slowed psychomotor development, and impaired visual motor functioning have been noted in infants and older children born to opiate-dependent mothers.

Newborns with drug exposure have hospital stays three times longer than those born to mothers who are drug-free.

But if you really want the reality of it...visit your hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and look at all the tiny little lives held together by tubes and wires. Then get down on your knees and pray.

I know smoking can cause lower birth weight so I'm guessing the same can be true for marijuana.
Be upfront and honest with your doctor they need to know everything so they can monitor baby if needed.
I know nothing about shrooms.

if you only did shrooms once then ur ok, dont do it again. on the pot. keep smokin if u wana, the placenta filters out all the harmful stuff and will keep the majority of the THC from the baby. hell the slut that i had one with smoked cigs and pot all the time and my girls fine. my bestfriends wife was on pot durring most of the pregnancy (slowed down A LOT durring the 3rd trimester) and i swear his kid is one of the smartest i have ever met.

Remember one thing , what you feel the baby feels . So if the baby feels it then it must be having mental and physical effects . There is no telling what defects can happen either . I will pray for you and your child . God bless you and your family !

first off never tell the doctor you did that stuff, why because they will keep it on record and might report you! secondly the plecenta isnt feeding the baby yet which means the fetus isnt getting a taste of the smoking .
since you stoped you should be ok

thats the problem with pregnancy we have to wait 9 months to see the damage that might have been done,it can cause heart and kidney defects and sometimes some things do not show up until after birth,
