I seem to be going through a lot of oil..without heating my house...I live in a 3 bd side split in NS Canada...alone..shouldnt use as much as others...or could there be something wrong..furnace kicks in a lot even when water isn't running...and heat not on. thanks Georgina

check your thermostats,they should all be turned down to either off posistion or below 60, this way they burner should only kick on when more hot water is needed, otherwise call in a repairman because your relays or electric eye may need cleaning or replaced

If your heat is not on and the furnace is kicking on then you have NOT turned off the furnace. On the furnace it self or very near to it should be a shut off for it. Your hot water should have its own shut off as well. Good luck.

Your furnace is heating your pottable water??? I would think a water heater would be more practicle...
