I'm going to report it to the health department, and I called the store manager and let them know. When I found it, I was throwing up from the sight of it for about 20 minutes, and threw everything away not saving it. I don't necessarily want anything FREE or wanna SUE anyone, but what can I do to make the seriousness of this information/situation informative to someone who can prevent it happening again?

As gross as it was, you should have saved the entire contents as proof of your claim. I think the best you can do now is write/phone the company that made the sauce, and hope for either an apology and/or a coupon for a free jar of sauce.

I think you accomplish more if you make that info public in some way rather than sue... but if you get sick, heck!! get them to pay your medical bills.. There's no excuse for such hazzard to happen! In the mean time dring milk or eat other dairy products, it will soothe your stomach... Sorry you had to go through that!

Contacting your local health department is your best bet - you may give them enough info for an inspection in that restaurant.
