Is it possible to be addicted to Video games? Yes/no and why?

Yes, it's a mental addiction. I think most people get addicted to them because it's an altered reality, especially RPG/MMO's.

Indeed it is. In fact, we have many people at my college who failed out because of their game addiction. I am doing a little research on this to find out why they're so addicted, and what we can do to get them away from it.
have I ever been addicted? No, but I've been deeply involved in games before. If someone told me I had to stop playing for a while, I'd stop, no problem.

Yes currently my sister has a serious addiction with video games which is affecting the whole family. She is always locked in her room every day from morning to night playing video games.
She doesn't socialize with her family nor with her friends like she use to, and her behavior has changed. Plus her grades got low.
We are going to get rid of her PS as soon as school starts.
Her behavior is unacceptable.

Yes if you spend all day in front of them it's the first thing you think about when you wake up the last thing you do before you go to bed and when yor out somewhere you can't wait to get home to play them I'd say your an addict

Sadly, yes. If you just play video games all day and have no life otherwise, you are addicted.

yes, it is very possible. Why? because, when you are playing a game and get sooooo far but want to get further, something in your brain wont let you quit before you accomplish your goal...If you want to think of it as standards, its like a GAMMER has standards to get to a certian point, and wont quit till they get there.
For example, my BF is playing the new Tiger Woods PGA tour game and he sets goals for himself eveytime he gets on, and says once I get there, Im done for the night. Yeah freakin' right..... As soon as he gets to that goal, he sets another goal. And that will go on till the early hours of the morning. Games are like drugs, you just have TO SAY NO!!!!! Hope that helps in any way.

Yes, if all you want to do is play, then your addicted ! When I first got my Pc, I had to break myself I put on weight due to not getting away and doing things I used to do like crafts & painting. Please do not let it get the best of you. Good Luck !

Yes,my sister is. She ignores most of her life because she's playing games. It's so sad. I enjoy games but I can't let them rule my life.
