I feel a bit strange walking into the women's department to browse for clothes for my girlfriend. Do other men feel this way? Any other thoughts are welcome...

My Dad is always buying clothes for my Mom. And my Mom is constantly complimented on the stuff my Dad buys her. My Aunt's say they want my Dad to shop for them too. Then he so rudely says, in private, you can't dress up a pig. Oh well at least Mom looks good!

I used to manage a women's clothing store. We had men shop there, and we thought it was great that they wanted to buy clothes for their wives or girlfriends. I wouldn't feel weird about it. You should feel good that you're a thoughtful man. One word of advice, find a salesperson, tell them your budget, and ask for help. Also, make sure that your wife can return them if they are the wrong color or size.

I can understand why you'd feel strange. If you really want to buy something like that for her. Check her clothes to find an approx size. Then when you get to the store, ask a sales person for help. One thing, don't feel bad if she takes whatever you buy back. I do most of the time when my husband buys me clothes. They usually don't fit right.

It's weird only because I know that a lot of girlfriends, including mine, never wants me to buy clothes for them b/c:
1. Men don't understand women's fashion
2. Men always pick out something that's too raunchy

I believe men in general do feel a little anxiety clothes shopping for their beloved, but the act itself is not strange. My husband picks out lingerie for me on occasion. Women know that the lingerie is eye candy for the man, and usually are happy with the buy (if your "baby" knows what YOU like and are comfortable in).

No, it is not weird at all. It is actually very sweet that you would do that for your girlfriend. I couldn't pay my boyfriend to do this for me. He doesn't even want to walk through the women's department when he's shopping with me. I swear, It's like asking him to hold a bomb when I ask him to hold my purse for me when I go to the dressing room. No, you are scoring big brownie points by shopping for her.

nah..its ok ..the problem is choosing the right thing..what you gotta do is shop like a woman..check out all the the clothes your missus likes ..then after 20 shops and 3 hours later go back to the first shop and buy the item you first looked at

Yes, some boys get excited by lingerie shopping. Women's garments are deeply erotic - panties, brassieres, garters, even stockings, because they are designed to show the women's body off. But of course there's nothing wrong with buying women's clothing, either for your girlfriend or for yourself if you like them.

No way, it makes you stand out in a good way...but I'm a female so I don't know how men feel. I like guys who go out of the way in this type of thing :)
