Well I answered you yesterday and was one of the few who recognized that the current 'things' in place that are suppose to protect us against this, have failed... meaning we need to take another look at why things are not working.
I would think that more Christians, like myself, would be absolutely IRATE considering the neocons have manipulated our religion in order to get ppl approval for some legislation. For example, they are trying to literally rewrite the Bible. You hear things like 'we need to eliminate welfare', 'eliminate medicare', eliminate social security', 'eliminate the minimum wage'.....
All of which is directly against the words of Jesus to take care of the poor, the weak, ...
We, as Christians, not as democrat or republican, need to take back our religion from these politicians before this manipulation completely contaminates our youth.
Note: Ignore the dummies who don't get your question. Seems they lack the ability to 'think' about your question. Probably are neocons whom have to be spoon fed information and can't reason on their own but rather are told what to believe from Fox News, etc...
The 1st Amendment of the Bill of Rights states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof....." That clearly tells you that congress shall not pass any legislation based on religion.

"How do we keep the Government from minuplating [sic] Religion to it's [sic] advantage." [Should end with ?]
Watta loaded question. I've got a question for you. Why do you write propoganda and pass it off as if it's a question? The other people here who have said your question sounds as if it is backwards seem to understand your point better than you expressed it.

I think your logic is a little backwards. It's religion that manipulates government, not the other way around. Again, the only manipulation of religion that is used, that I can see, is the pandering for votes that both of the current mainstream parties use to get elected.

You are right. There needs to be checks and balances and laws that would prevent the government meddling to promoting a certain religion over another.

I agree with you COMPLETELY. But its impossible to do. Other people don't see it. I am a christian and when I hear 'christian' radio stations defending Bush's actions it makes me sick. But with all the Tax breaks religious groups get they have to kiss butt to make sure they get the breaks. People don't see it and that's the sad part........If the Church won't stand up to the Government we are screwed
