Patricia,
The troops are the instruments of our political intentions and in this country we elect our leaders. That is democracy and although not perfect is better than anything else on offer.
As the politicians were elected by us, and the troops answer to the politicians we can only support our troops, because they carry out the will of our nation.
If there is or has been condemnation for any action by our Nation it is our responsibility not that of the soldier.
So without hesitation, or need of further clarification, I support our troops overseas wherever we send them and have pride in their conduct.

This is probably just me but I find it troubling that somebody who can't even spell "Afghanistan", somebody who doesn't even know that it starts with a capital letter, gets to vote on whether or not troops should be sent there. Call me old fashioned, I just find it disquieting that the fate of nations can be determined on no better qualification than the ability to make an "X".

Britain has tried to occupy Afghanistan twice before, and in both cases they were driven out running and for the cost of very high casualties. Obviously we have learned nothing from History.
Any British soldier sent to Afghanistan is potentially on death row.

I support all the men and women of the armed forces and the emergency services and the doctors and nurses too. They are a great team and help support us all whether here or abroad. Don't forget not all of them are paid highly like the sports men and women and alleged stars and they are a million times more hardworking in tough climes!

I think the best support we can give them is to petition & campaign to take them out of there. Other countries have no business interfering there in the first place.

Perhaps you mean "support our troops" and "Afghanistan." I don't "surport" ANYTHING, whether they "are troops" or not.

I usually hate it when people correct spelling on here but yours is pretty bad....
It is "support our troops" and that isn't a question.
