Well for a mixed gender party I would suggest either a Harry Potter movie or The Chronicles of Naria: The Lion Witch and the Wardrobe.

It would depend on the child's interests. Safe generic one for mixed party would be "Wallace and Grommit: Curse of the Wererabbit" or "Cheaper By The Dozen" 1 or 2, "Cody Banks" 1 or 2, Sky High or my 12 year old son's favorite "The Goonies" - is a '80's flick.
If just boys maybe: "Sandlot" or "Sandlot 2" or "Pirates of the Caribean" or my son's favorite "Lost Boys" (is an '80's film with teen vampires and the kids are the heros).
If just all girls, maybe: Princess Diaries 1 or 2, Legally Blonde, or Mean Girls

Depends. Pokemon the movie, Sky High, Yu-gi-oh the movie, the Adventures of shark boy and whatever the girls name is, depends on what they like. The Incredibles,hmmm.......
You know a good movie I have seen recently? Madagascar. Geared towards children and adults, made by Pixar, the same company who made toy story finding nemo (also 2 good movies). Your call though.

High School Musical. It's appropriate, it's entertaining, and most kids ages 5-14 love it. And it came out on DVD May 23.

If it's a group of girls, I'd recommend the Princess Diaries (& Princess Diaries 2). My 11 year old niece loved both.

I say Cars. I'm thirteen and I really liked it, but then again it depends on if the people at the party are girls or guys, cuz I know the girls will love it... and so will the parents, but I don't know about the guys.
