The worse step-mother I ever heard of was the step-mother of Blind Willie Johnson, the old time blues singer. When he was 7 his father caught her cheating, so he beat her up. To get even, she threw lye in little Willie's eyes.

Well, there are stepmothers who are not good parents and who are mean to their non-biological children. I once saw a woman on Dr. Phil who was a stepmom, and she thought her new husband's 7 year old daughter was causing problems in their relationship so she got him to move the child out of the house to her grandparents. Of course, the father is also to blame here, I mean, who let's some woman move his child out of his house? She was pretty close to evil, anyway.
